About the Department
Business is a social science that examines the establishment, financing, provision of means of production, marketing of goods and services produced, organization, management and monitoring of financial events of institutions for value maximization. Today, the need for knowledgeable and well-equipped managers is increasing in order for businesses to survive against the changes occurring in the global arena and the increasing competitive environment.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO 1: Graduates are expected to assume roles as strategy specialists or managers in national and international organizations; to lead the enhancement of organizational performance through the effective use of analytical decision-making competencies; and to achieve professional success in strategic planning processes.
PEO 2: Graduates are expected to serve as business development specialists, sustainability leaders, or innovation managers in organizations operating within the manufacturing and service sectors; and to create long-term economic and social value for their institutions by developing innovative business models and sustainable strategies.
PEO 3: Graduates are expected to undertake roles such as operations managers or process consultants in organizations operating in dynamic sectors including healthcare, technology, and manufacturing; and to implement practices that enhance operational efficiency and institutional competitiveness by rapidly adapting to sectoral dynamics.
PEO 4: Graduates are expected to pursue careers as digital transformation leaders, data analytics managers, or technology consultants in business environments characterized by intensive digitalization processes; and to strengthen the digital competencies and innovation capacities of organizations through data-driven decision-making mechanisms.
PEO 5: Graduates are expected to assume responsibilities as team leaders or project managers in multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary projects; and to establish sustainable, trust-based professional relationships among stakeholders by demonstrating professional ethical principles and strong institutional communication competencies.
PEO 6: Graduates are expected to analyze market opportunities as founders or co-founders in new ventures and to develop innovative business models that are economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable.
Academic Opportunities
Education in the Department of Business Administration is carried out in two separate programs, "Turkish and English".
Throughout their education, our students will gain the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to conduct interdisciplinary academic studies through elective courses offered from different disciplines as well as compulsory courses such as Economics, Basic Business, Statistics, Accounting, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Management and Organization, Business and Economic Accounting. The courses taken by our students will be supported by projects and graduation theses to improve their research and application skills. The academicians of our university, who have adopted the principle of student-oriented education, will help our students to direct their careers by providing professional counseling and mentoring support. During their education, it is aimed to contribute to the development of leadership qualities by directing our students to teamwork. Our students will graduate much more ready for the sector with their theoretical education created by taking into account the needs of the sector and industry, as well as the practical training they receive thanks to our academic-industry collaborations. Our students have the opportunity to double major and minor if they meet the necessary conditions.
The medium of instruction in the English Business Administration Department is English. Students have to take the English placement exam. Students who are successful in the exam are exempted from the English preparatory class and have the right to enroll in the first year of the department. Students who are not successful in the exam are enrolled in the compulsory English preparatory program. Students of the department have the opportunity to double major or minor.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the department have the opportunity to work in almost every sector. They can work in public institutions, banks, insurance companies, marketing and sales companies, financial institutions, media sector, tourism sector, airline companies, accounting, finance and auditing. Graduates can also work as financial advisors and administrative judges if they meet the necessary conditions. In addition, graduates of the department can work as academicians in universities while continuing their master's and doctoral programs.
